THE UNSHAKEABLE STRENGTH OF WOMEN; A TRIBUTE TO SHEROES OF WASSA IDP CAMP

I know women, and I know their strength. I have seen them shine like diamonds in the rough, their beauty and resilience radiating like a beautiful butterfly.

From the moment I met the women at the Wassa Internally Displaced Persons camp in Abuja, I was struck by their vibrancy and determination. Despite the challenges they face, they stand tall, their energy and liveliness is so admirable.

At Stand with a Girl Initiative, we have had the privilege of working with these remarkable women, supporting their sexual and reproductive health, providing vital information, and empowering them with grants. We have witnessed their transformation, their voices growing stronger with each passing day.

In March, we celebrated Women’s Month, but our admiration for these women doesn’t stop there. We spotlight the phenomenal women of Wassa IDP Camp, who took charge of the Internally Displaced Women’s Conference, planning every detail with precision and passion. Their dance and drama performances left us in awe, of their creativity and empowerment.

Under the theme “Invest In Women; Accelerate Progress,” we celebrated together , championing their voices and experiences. At SWAG Initiative, we believe in the potential of women and are committed to investing in their futures.

What do I love most about women? Their strength, their unshakeable resilience, and their unrelenting determination. They are the true heroes, and we are honoured to stand with them.
