DIGNITY IN MENSTRUATION (DIM) PROJECT



The Dignity in Menstruation Project is a Menstrual Health Education program for adolescent girls and young women. It is also a sensitization and community level advocacy effort towards shifting societal norms and belief systems that affect women’s reproductive health, rights and wellbeing at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
Goal: To change social norms and belief systems affecting women and girls menstrual Health and Dignity in the FCT by reaching 4000 women and girls from the Internally
Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp and educating 3000 men and boys in the community to change
negative social perception on Menstruation.
Objectives:
● To provide comprehensive and accurate life-centred, stigma free information to 4000 Girls and young women in the Internally Displaced Persons Camp.
● To Change harmful social and cultural norms, beliefs and practices by Camp community 3000 gatekeepers and influencers in the Internally Displaced Persons Camp.
● To Improve 20 staff knowledge and skills to champion Menstrual dignity at Internally
Displaced Persons Camp in FCT.
