Overview of The CUFS Project
Campus Unites for SRH (CUFS) project supported by Girl Effect is collaborating with campus-based theatre and media groups in Ahmadu Bello University and Federal University of Education Zaria, to promote SRH information among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) ages 15-24 within school campuses and nearby host communities.
This is being implemented by imploring a multifaceted approach, through leveraging campus theatrical performances, community outreach (mobile theatre), and strategic media engagements in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
The project is also collaborating with health experts to provide accurate and adequate SRHR information and services, working closely with healthcare providers and primary healthcare facilities.
This partnership ensures performance messages align with medical guidelines and enables Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) to access quality healthcare services in these facilities through referrals.
Goal:
To enhance sexual and reproductive health & rights of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Objectives:
● Strengthen capacity of 60 theatre and performing arts students, CBOs and CSOs on SRH, storytelling and Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC).
● Promote adequate and accurate SRH information and services for AGYW through collaboration with campus-based theatre and media platforms.
● Address social and gender norms surrounding SRH access and utilization.
